The stage is transformed into the atelier of agenius artist.

 

Alexander Calder was a great American sculptor. He owned many toys when he was a boy, but he was never satisfied. He built more complex toys, full of mechanisms. Alexander Calder’s ingenious sculptures help us understand the reasons that lead an artist to create. This show is based on the works by Calder, hunter of iron birds, clockmaker tuned by the wind, sculptor of time, stable and mobile tightrope walker, a playful engineer who stopped to watch movement… Let us listen to his stories and have fun with him and his games; let us imagine the atelier of an eccentric sculptor; let him take us to the weird world he is going to build all around us.

Founded in 1976, La Baracca has been working in the field of theatre for children and early years for the past 40 years.

The company’s productions are addressed exclusively to children and young people, and they are centered on actors theatre and on an original theatrical style.

Over the years, they have developed a poetics aimed at generating amazement, trying to pursue simplicity intended as essentiality, always paying special attention to the relationship with the audience.

To date, La Baracca has produced over 150 shows for children and young people, with more than 10.000 performances.
