Austrian composer Johann Strauss Sr. in 1848. It is the most famous masterpiece of John Sr., and is often used as the last track of popular orchestral concerts. Every year, the famous Vienna New Year's Concert always ends with this song.

The piece consists of two contrasting parts. After the powerful introduction is the theme of the first part, as if people saw a group of infantry walking briskly through the street. After repeating it again, the music goes through a transitional sentence played by the whole band in unison, and then there is a soft theme compared with the previous theme, which is beautiful and beautiful.

In 1866, Johann Jr. was commissioned by Herbeck, conductor of the Vienna Men's Chorus Association, to compose a chorus for his chorus that "symbolizes the vigor of life in Vienna". On February 9, 1867, the work premiered in Vienna. Because Vienna was under the siege of Prussia at that time, people were in pessimism and disappointment, so the work also suffered misfortune, and the premiere failed.

Until February 1868, when Johann Strauss Jr. lived at No. 54 Bretai Street, not far from the Danube in the suburbs of Vienna, he changed this chorus to orchestral music, and added many new pieces to it.
