ZHANG Yimou, a famous Chinese director, whose works are innovative and cover a wide range of subjects, has ever won a Golden Berlin Bear, a Silver Berlin Bear, twice Golden Lions, the Jury Prize at Cannes Film Festival, three times Oscar nominations and five times Golden Globe Award nominations. He was also nominated for TIME’s Person of the Year for directing both opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games.

 

 

ZHANG has received honorary doctorate degrees from Yale University, Boston University, Moscow Film University, City University of Hong Kong, and Dankook University.
