Dear Mother,
That's what I wanted to paint on stage,
you naturally invited yourself. 
I wanted to tell something about myself, 
because it seemed to me to be, paradoxically, 
what others could relate to.
I didn't think of you right away.
I wanted to tell the story of my battles, my "internal struggles", my faces on the run, my flaws, 
this time and this grain that I am, ....
And then you arrived for the first time.
First of all, I wasn't paying attention to you. 
You sat in a corner of my drawing, a little out of the way,
and you waited for me to come and get you...
So you've surreptitiously become the secret, central subject of my story! ! : 
filial love that can't be said, but can be sung....
So I've kept to my original plan of telling the story of what I've been through,
and include you in that past.
Strangely enough, it was while looking at where we're heading that I needed to remember...
And now that we're together on this abstract place - the stage,
I feel like we've grown closer together,
and we continue to move forward together, almost hand in hand...
And if there's an intention to note, 
is to walk fearlessly towards our death ...

Producer - Mots de tête Compagnie
Mots de tête is a training organization that works to transmit and update the pedagogical corpus of Philippe Genty and Mary Underwood. It is a Qualiopi-accredited training organization, working to pass on and update Philippe Genty and Mary Underwood's pedagogical corpus. It develops an independent artistic activity or one linked to the Compagnie Philippe Genty repertoire. The company develops projects with other associations in the artistic, educational and/or social fields, in France and abroad, and creates its own shows, in connection with object and puppet theater.

 

Director/Main Actor - Eric de Sarria 
Eric de Sarria trained with Yves Pignot (L'Entrée des artistes, Paris, 1981) and Edgardo Luigi (Ecole de La Forge royale, Paris, 1982). He is trained in many disciplines, including dance, puppetry, acrobatics and theater.

He acted under the direction of Philippe Genty in his plays Dérives (Paris, 1989 then toured 1990-1992), Dédale (Saint Brieuc, 1998 then toured 1998) and Zigmund Follies (Nevers, 2000 then toured 2000-2019). He also played in Terezin, directed by Jacques Livchine and Hervée De Lafond (Montbéliard, 1997) and Icare by and directed by Yann Dénecé (Quimper, 1998 then tour 1998-2000).

As a director, he has created two shows in which he plays: Et si je vous mettais un peu de musique after Gabriel Dagan and Dani Horowitz (Montbéliard, 1995) and his text Un goût de millefeuille (Alexandrie, 2008, tour 2008-2017). With the company Les Maladroits, he wrote and directed Frères (TU, Nantes, 2016 then toured 2016-2019) and Camarades (Le Sablier, Pôle des Arts de la Marionnette en Normandie, Ifs, 2018 then toured 2018/2019).

He assists Philippe Genty as director on several of his shows, including Boliloc (Nevers, 2007) and Paysages intérieurs (Nevers, 2016). His film credits include Le Marquis directed by Henri Xhonneux (1989).

 

Producer/Actress - Yun Geng
Yun Geng, Maker / Puppetry Designer . She holds a Master's degree in Theatre Design from UAL's Wimbledon College of Arts, graduating in 2018. Following her passion and specialisation in puppetry making, she dedicated several years to honing her craft in Shanghai. In 2023, she returned to the UK with a commitment to further elevate her expertise in puppetry. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Kent, focusing on advancing her skills and knowledge in the art of contemporary puppetry researching.
