Established in 1928 by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov, the composer of the former Soviet anthem and a conductor of genius, Alexandrov Ensemble is the oldest, largest and most prestigious military artistic team in Russia. In the past 89 years, its choruses and dances have incorporated the unique Soviet military art and Russian national art into the performance, featuring salient heroic and romantic flavour.

It was granted the title of Revolutionary Red Banner in 1935 and the Order of the Red Banner twice in 1935 and 1949 respectively. It is the only one national ensemble which followed President Putin to visit various countries, giving full expression to the brilliant artistic essence of the Russian nation. It is also the exclusive foreign top-level art group that has been received and praised by four generations of China's top leaders. Its wonderful performance at Exposition Universelle has bestowed the highest award. Moreover, it won the Gold Disk awards for record sales from the French company Chant Du Monde and the Dutch company H.O.C. respectively.
