“Concert on the Green” is a feast of classical music in nature. It will be a weekend permeated with an atmosphere of “love in music, love in nature,” allowing the concertgoers to slow down and truly enjoy a time of fresh air and share an intimate connection through music. This year the festival will maintain its previous format, featuring four concerts of various sizes both day time and evening, at two locations – the Big Stage and the Small Stage – in 2 successive days.

 

 

 

Born in Shanghai, the tenor Shi Yijie began his vocal studies in his native city and graduated with top marks at the Toho College of Music in Tokyo. After having won a fellowship offered by Toho Postgraduate School of Music, he moved to Europe to continue his studies in Graz. He has won several international vocal competitions, including the Graz 'Ferruccio Tagliavini' International Singing Competition, the Toti dal Monte International Competition in Treviso in 2007, the Festspielstadt Passau Competition and, also in 2007, the Maria Caniglia International Singing Competition in Sulmona.

 

He has achieved considerable success in leading Rossini rôles in Pesaro and has already appeared at major international opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera of New York, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florence, the Teatro San Carlo, Naples, the Teatro La Fenice, Venice, the Teatro Comunale, Bologna, and at theatres in Spain, France, Holland and South America, in a career of growing distinction.

 

 

Han Peng is an active young tenor, graduated from Vocal and Song Department in Shanghai Conservatory of Music, tutored by Professor Chen Xing and Professor Zhou Xiaoyan. He won First Prize in Italy Verona Turandot International Opera Competition and the Best Tune Prize awarded by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization. Han Peng won First Prize in Italy Riccardo Zandonai International Singer Competition twice and was the main actor in domestic and foreign operas such as opera Attila, Carmen, Turandot, Carmen, Scripture of Heart, etc.

 

Chinese tenor Haoyin Xue studied at the Music Conservatory of China. Awards include the Grand Prize at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Vocal Competition and the Gold Medal at the Young Singer TV Vocal Competition of China.

He has performed under the auspices of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Russia, Finland, Canada and throughout South-East Asia.

He has appeared as Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), the Duke (Rigoletto), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and Alfredo (La traviata) for NCPA. He has performed as Rodolfo (La Bohème) for the Hong Kong Opera and has also sung as Rodolfo for a new Salzburg arts festival production of La Bohème in Shanghai (2012).
