Tank Shanghai presents “Aesthetics – Collection of Qiao Zhibing” from March 19 to October 11, 2021. Qiao Zhibing, who is the founder of Tank Shanghai and an avid art collector, will select twelve domestic and foreign contemporary artists from his private collection. The exhibition will embody how art can establish subtle connections with the times and regions by influencing individuals, thereby leading the audience to observe and appreciate contemporary art in a more equal and free manner.  

As an important contemporary art collector in China, Qiao Zhibing uses "beauty", "emotion" and "inspiration" to summarize his long-term collection.  In his view, collecting is about personal intuition and does not require complicated trade-offs. The key is to experience the intuitive feelings that art works bring to oneself.  The exhibited works in “Aesthetics” will include paintings, installations and videos and other creative media.  Most of the artists who created these works have gained international fame today. The exhibition also aims to reflect the experiences and processes that artists and collectors have undergone, resulting in a more comprehensive understanding of contemporary art.
