Bionic Brew presents the 4th Shenzhen Craft Beer Festival, also known as The Electric City Festival, this 2018 on November 9, 10, and 11 at HALO Place north of Grand Theater in downtown Shenzhen. The annual invitational event is for breweries from around China, which focuses on Chinese made craft beer, local restaurants, and building our craft community in Southern China. We welcome all craft beer enthusiasts, foodies, families, (well behaved) dogs, and those committed to quality and curiosity.

Over the last four years of organizing this festival we’ve grown from 6 Chinese craft brewers to nearly 20 and supported our local restaurants and home brewers each year. There are many other “craft beer festivals” now as people race to cash in on the craft beer trend but this is not one of those festivals. This is the original in Shenzhen. This one is about loving what you do, helping each other, and connecting with our community in a positive and engaging way.

DJ LINEUP

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve shared with you an overview of this year’s exciting brewery and restaurant lineup. Today we bring you our DJ lineup and we are very proud to have some of Shenzhen’s finest local and international artists. The whole weekend the festival will feature selected DJ’s which you can read about here:

FRIDAY, November 9th

TAYTA

As a Dj and producer, Colombian Native Tayta is able to move between and blend genres seamlessly. He has performed in top venues across China, headlined Club Sector's main room and shared a stage with Johnny Osbourne at the Outlook Festival. Tayta has also left his mark globally, playing across countries such as Colombia, Mexico, India, Germany, Austria, Thailand and the US.

Having played alongside tech house DJ Technasia, and underground club queen Madam X, Tayta's groove and versatility continues to push the boundaries of the music scene in China. Dj Tayta currently lives in Shenzhen, China where he holds residency at Baia and hosts the city's hottest funk party every Friday.

MMERVV

MMERVV arrived in China by way of the U.S. and Germany, bringing an eclectic love of italo, soul, and chilled-out house music that prizes texture and ambience.

SATURDAY, November 10th

VOLKOV

Volkov a DJ and record collector from Ukraine, now based in China, from where he runs his '12 inch parties' in Shenzhen. Known to mix up genres from balearic to house, Dmitry carefully sources special records and collectors vinyl from around the globe, then brings them alive working them into his trademark groove.

ECTOPLAZM

Ex-Party Horse and snake-hipped Junks front-man Ectoplazm is on a mission to bring retro wave and tasty synth revival cuts to the masses. Blonde-haired funkily dressed and never without his trusty baseball cap, Ectoplazm likes to keep one foot in the past and the other firmly in the future. As the frontman of dystopian-synthwave band Junks, Ectoplazm is in thrall to all things neon, 80s and retro, and his fun-loving DJ sets are full of arpeggiated synth lines, punchy drums and songs that soundtrack your retro-futuristic dreams.

Based in Hangzhou, Ectoplazm is part of the city's growing party scene and has performed in his various musical guises at some of China's biggest music festivals (including MIDI and Strawberry Music Festival), at some of the country’s most happening clubs (DADA, Loopy), and in a number of different cities (Kunming, Wuhan, Shenzhen etc). A.BLACK DJ

Adrian Black aka A.BLACK DJ has been playing music for more than 20 years and producing for 15 years straight out of Virginia, USA, home to some amazing artists/producers like Pharrell Williams & The Neptunes, Missy Elliot, and Timbaland.
