Conductor: Christoph Eschenbach
In demand as a distinguished guest conductor with the finest orchestras and opera houses throughout the world, Christoph Eschenbach began his tenure in September 2010 as Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra as well as Music Director of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C.
Since his appointment to these positions in 2008, he has played a key role in planning future seasons, international festivals and special projects for these two prestigious institutions. From September 2019, he will be the new Musical Director of the Konzerthausorchester, Berlin.
Artist: Stathis Karapanos
Stathis Karapanos was born in Athens, Greece in September of 1996, son to a ballet dancer and a banker and future brother to a then unborn sister, who today studies law. At the age of five, Karapanos announced to his mother that he had decided that he was going to start playing the flute.
His ultimate dream has always been to understand and serve music to its fullest extent, which has led him to live in four different countries, perform with numerous orchestras and ensembles as a soloist and explore all kinds of instruments and music styles.
In 2017 he was appointed First Principal Flute of the Athens State Symphony Orchestra, a post that he left in July of 2018 to follow his solistic carrier and complete his master studies with Prof. Bernold at the Conservatoire National Superieur in Paris.
Presenter: China NCPA Orchestra
China NCPA Orchestra is the resident orchestra of the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Beijing. Established in March 2010, the orchestra consists of highly accomplished musicians from around the world, who perform in more than a dozen opera productions presented by its home venue each year as well as in ballets and regular orchestral concerts in its own season.
With a notably busy schedule, the young ensemble has fast established itself as one of the most adventurous and dynamic orchestras in the country.
