- Visit a farmer's painting village

Fengjing ancient water town is a small town on the outskirts of Shanghai. It has a history of more than 1500 years and it is the most well preserved ancient town in Shanghai district. Unlike other famous water towns around Shanghai (such as Zhouzhuang, Xitang), Fengjing is less commercialized and less crowded.
In Fengjing, you can explore the architecture, the tourist attractions, and the very unique local food (very delicious!). If you are looking for a getaway from city life, but don't want to go too far or feel like a sardine in a can, it is a perfect place to go!
We will take 2 hours walking around the water town, enjoying the peaceful view, talk to the locals, take lots of beautiful Chinese style pictures with the old buildings and arts. Lunch in a local restaurant, ready to try something fresh and new? Then we will go to the farmers painting village, where we meet an excellent painter, she will give us a painting lesson (if you want), enjoy some tea and home grown snacks. The small village is full of paintings and pretty yards with plants. If we time permits, there is an upside down Polland house which is also fun for us to explore.

At around 4pm, we are ready to go back to the city center.
You will be using public transportation, if you wish to add a private car please add to the notes.
