After a successful run in 2017, the Concert of the Stars of French-language Musicals is back after six years and returns for its anniversary month in September this year.

The Concert of the Stars of French-language Musicals is led by renowned French producer Nicolas Talar and features the original production team of the French-language musical Notre-Dame de Paris, with Laurent Ban, Elhaida Dani, Angelo Del Vecchio, Mikelangelo Loconte, Robert Marien and Gian Marco Schiaretti, together with Chinese and French musicians, present a selection of Notre-Dame de Paris, Romeo and Juliet, Rock and Roll Mozart, and The Musical. The show will feature a selection of some 30 classics from famous French-language musicals such as "Les Miserables", "Les Misérables", "Don Giovanni" and "La Rouge et le Noir", and will show the glorious history of French-language musicals.

This performance features a French electro-acoustic orchestra and a Chinese orchestra of around 20 people, which will light up the night with a magnificent accompaniment. The Shanghai leg will feature the return of young conductor, music director and musical theatre actor Zhou Ke Ren, who conducted the Chinese orchestra for the 2017 French musical gala concert, as the Chinese conductor, renewing his ties with this French-language musical extravaganza.

Chinese Orchestra at Shanghai

Senzer Ensemble is a group of young musicians with a passion for diverse musical styles, all of whom have received rigorous classical training and are influenced by jazz, rock, Latin and pop culture, constantly expanding the boundaries of the use of orchestral instruments in contemporary music.

The group regularly produces and publishes music videos on a wide range of topics, including musical excerpts, film and TV soundtracks, pop songs and ACG soundtracks. The orchestra also works with artists and groups in different fields, and has participated in many film and TV soundtracks and song recordings, as well as performing as a live accompanist for concerts and musicals.

The orchestra has also collaborated with Shanghai Culture Square on several occasions, participating as the Chinese orchestra in "Sylvester Levy and His Friends: A Concert of German Musical Stars", assisting in the selection of musicians and live accompaniment for the Chinese version of the musical "Spring Awakening", and performing in a special concert of "New-school Strings" in the outdoor stage season of Shanghai Culture Square.
