The Kölner Symphoniker, founded in 1998, is an ensemble of 60 first-class musicians. Trained at high-ranking conservatories in Germany and abroad and the recipients of numerous prizes and scholarships, they form an orchestra that fulfils the highest demands of the discerning music connoisseur with flying colours. The Kölner Symphoniker's concerts in major musical centres such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Cologne Philharmonie and at exquisite music festivals at Schloss Ansbach and Schloss Weikersheim are highly acclaimed and vividly remembered by many music lovers.
With their unmistakable sound and the confidently inspired touch of their intelligent interpretation of musical masterpieces, the Kölner Symphoniker inevitably cast a spell over audiences and the number of enthusiastic fans who follow their tours grows with every concert.
In addition to major opera performances with the ensemble of the Cologne Chamber Opera - including great operas such as ‘Die Zauberflöte’, ‘Don Giovanni’, ‘La Bohème’, operettas such as ‘Das Land des Lächelns’ and ‘Die Lustige Witwe’ - as well as musical performances with the Deutsche Musical Company such as ‘My fair Lady’, ‘Hello, Dolly!’ and many more, the orchestra plays independent concerts in the symphonic field, in the field of film music, as well as major gala concerts.
