Brush my lips with ghostly kisses.
– William Faulkner

Ghostly Kisses is the dreamy pop music of singer songwriter Margaux Sauvé. The name Ghostly Kisses was inspired from reading William Faulkner’s poem Une ballade des dames perdues and seemed like the perfect reflection of her ethereal voice.

Who Is Ghostly Kisses?
Margaux Sauvé, a French-Canadian singer-songwriter, channels her musical creativity through the enchanting project known as Ghostly Kisses. With her roots firmly planted in Quebec, she captivates audiences with her unique sound. Akira Records, a respected British record label, proudly represents Margaux's talents. The moniker 'Ghostly Kisses' takes inspiration from William Faulkner's poignant poem "Une ballade des dames perdues," specifically the line "And brush my lips with little ghostly kisses." Clash magazine eloquently describes Margaux's music as ethereal, transcending the ephemeral aspects of our lives and grappling with the essential facets that define us.

Career
While studying psychology at university, Sauvé experienced a sudden surge of creative inspiration that led her to venture into songwriting. Despite her background as a trained violinist, she had never previously considered pursuing a singing career. As she neared the end of her studies, Sauvé shared her compositions with Dragos Chiriac (of Men I Trust), who not only praised her vocal talent but also suggested collaborating together. In May 2015, she made her debut with the release of the single "Never Know." The following year, in March 2017, she unveiled her first EP titled What You See. Continuing her musical journey, Sauvé released her sophomore EP, This City Holds My Heart, in 2018, which featured her heartfelt rendition of The Cranberries' hit track "Zombie."

In 2019, Sauvé received official recognition by being selected to showcase her talent at the esteemed SXSW music festival in Austin. During the same year, she also released another EP, Alone Together, which showcased a collection of introspective acoustic songs. The year 2020 witnessed the release of yet another EP, Never Let Me Go.

Building upon her growing success, Sauvé made a significant announcement in 2021—the impending release of her debut full-length album, Heaven, Wait. In September 2021, she unveiled the album's title track, co-composed with her musical and life partner, Louis-Étienne Santais. The highly anticipated album arrived on January 28, 2022, marking a significant milestone in Sauvé's artistic career.

Collaborations
In 2021, Sauvé embarked on a collaborative journey with esteemed producers Tim Bran and Louis-Étienne Santais for her captivating track "Heaven, Wait." Despite being physically distant, with Tim residing in England and Sauvé alongside Louis-Étienne in Canada, they successfully crafted the song through remote collaboration. Notably, the recording process incorporated the artistry of a talented string ensemble from the Fame Studio in Macedonia, adding a sublime touch to the final product.

In addition to her collaboration with Tim Bran and Louis-Étienne Santais, Sauvé has also joined forces with the accomplished producer Thomas Bartlett, better known as Doveman. Together, they worked on the mesmerizing piece titled "Don't Know Why," further demonstrating Sauvé's versatility and her ability to collaborate with renowned artists to create exceptional music.
