Guitar: Etienne Jeanne
A French man, he started playing the guitar at the age of 10 and quickly learnt his extraordinary skills from the local gypsies. When he was 17, he decided to go to Paris to start his real musical journey. He started to play with a group of Russian cabaret artists in many famous clubs in Paris. Playing different styles of music from different countries (Russian, Gypsy, Sibanye, Brazilian, French) all day long allowed him to perfect his skills and to play any style of jazz, from be-bop jazz to a combination of Western and Eastern styles, from electric to acoustic guitars. As a freelance musician, he has collaborated with many famous musicians such as Zhao Ke, Shunyi, Wang Ruolin, Laura Fygi, Li Quan, Peng Fei, Li Yuejun, Ludovic Beier, Swing Dynasty, Anne Evenou, and formed his string trio ‘Wayne's Basement’. He also played an important role in the music performances at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 and organised concerts for the French Pavilion, Belgium, for the US Pavilion and for the European Community, as well as being the guitarist in the ‘China Dream Voice 2016’ Decade. Etienne also travels regularly to Europe every summer to perform at various jazz festivals.
