This is an easy kayak trip in the protected waters (when the winds are blowing from the north, south or west) of Sok Kwu Wan and the East Lamma Channel.

Dog Island is named after the 2 resident dogs who live a peaceful but lonely life on this small deserted island 200 meters from the shores of Lamma Island in the East Lamma Channel.

 

 

 

 

Dog Island is a small, totally uninhabited island on the edge of the East Lamma Channel and Lamma Island.

The location is unique. You depart from a relatively unpopulated island (Lamma) from the shelter of Sok Kwu Wan (Big Net Bay) paddling along the coast for 3 km until you stop at a completely uninhabited island on the edge of the busiest shipping channel in Hong Kong (the East Lamma Channel). 

Your guide will inform you about local culture, modern Hong Kong and the important role Sok Kwu Wan has played in Chinese history. He will also introduce you to the 2 resident dogs after whom the island is named. 

The tour departs twice in a day. 9:30 am and 13:30 pm. You will be using double sit-on-top kayaks which are very stable and easy to control.
