In 2019, as a present for his 80th birthday to commemorate 60 years of his career, 
Ian McLean toured the UK as a one-man show. 
When he arrived at the Harold Pinter Theatre in the West End, 
he had spent nearly a year walking through 87 theatres in England, Wales, Scotland 
and Northern Ireland, and completed nearly 200 performances of "Ian Mack".

Since he officially entered the professional stage in 1961, 
Ian McLean has created countless great characters, 
Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" series, Magneto in the "X-Men" series, 
and Shakespeare's Hamlet and Lee. Erwang, Coriolanus, Malvolio... 
In "Ian McLean's 80-Year-Old Solo Show Tour", 
he led the audience to return to his classic roles and performance clips, 
incarnated as a line machine, explosive stalking machine shows the charm of the drama bones and the enthusiasm for the stage; 
the industry anecdotes and gossips that come at hand, 
vividly present a corner of the British stage history for half a century; 
the enthusiastic interaction between the performances is enough to pull everyone into the theater, 
pull into the fantasy of each work.

Accompanied by his old partner and director Sean Matthias, 
he also completed a significant fundraising operation in this round of tour. 
More than 3 million pounds of tour proceeds will be used to support British regional theatre and stage practitioners development, 
its selfless generosity and enthusiasm for the industry is moving.
