With resounding reputation as one of Shanghai’s institutional bars, The Ritz Bar & Lounge continues to line up a series of iconic cocktail experiences introduced by the newly-appointed Beverage and Bar Manager, Tural Hasanov. Taking inspirations from Shanghai heritage and inspiring moments in life, Tural launched eight new cocktail collections in The Hidden Bar of The Ritz Bar & Lounge, celebrating local ingredients, world famous delights and spirits that pique the senses of discerning cocktail connoisseurs.

 

 

The new menu – The Untold Story is divided into eight selections of cocktails:

 

YE SHANGHAI
Inspired by the golden era of Shanghai, this 21st anniversary cocktail pays tribute to the everlasting history of the hotel. Incorporating local flavours and fine spirits, such as Royal Salute 21, The Portman Ritz-Carlton 21st anniversary tea; all ingredients have married for 21 days in vacuum containers. A perfect concoction to usher in a memorable evening.

 

 

*10% of the amount earned from this cocktail will be contributed to supporting restoration programs of cultural heritage sites and buildings of our home, Shanghai.

 

YIN YANG
A unique interpretation of Yin Yang from the concept of dualism in ancient Chinese philosophy. By using a variety of local ingredients, this Baijiu based cocktail presents a seemingly contrary taste of black and white – strong and spicy, light and sweet; while the actual taste is complementary and interconnected.

 

MYSTERY BOX
One of The Ritz Bar’s landmark creations full of unknown surprises, start a journey of unforgettable tastes. Each cocktail is served in a tailor-made mystery box surrounded by aromatic vapor.

 

 

MASTERPIECES
Favorite creations of Tural Hasanov, inspired by his passion for cocktails, capturing every fine piece of memory into every hand-crafted masterpiece. Each masterpiece will be served in a set with one local appetizer and dessert.

 

ANGEL’S SHARE
Timeless tastes for remarkable moments. Cocktails in this selection have been aged for one to three months in different oak barrels in house - Double Aged Old Fashioned, Negroni, Manhattan, Sazerac.

 

 

ROYAL CLASSICS
Finest, notable and limited - a fascinating royal collection of all time.

CLASSIC COCKTAILS
A journey back to the renowned classics, tasting cocktails in different critical historic periods. All the Old Fashioned are made with homemade syrup using sugar cane, citrus and bitters which then fermented for one week.

SERENDIPITY
Limited edition cocktail – 25 limited edition cocktails created by master craftsmen using time-honored methods in the art of mixology. Enjoy in moderation, in same way it is made, slow ad unhurried.
