The International Champions Cup returns to China this summer with one of European soccer's fiercest rivalries, the Derby d'Italia between Juventus and Inter, coming to Nanjing.

 

Two of world soccer's proudest, most historic clubs will slug it out at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Complex on Wednesday, July 24.

 

 

Juventus claimed their 35th Scudetto earlier this year, extending their supremacy as the most decorated side in Serie A, while reaching the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Inter, meanwhile, has racked up 18 Serie A titles and are the only team in the history of Italian soccer to complete the 'Treble' – winning the title, Champions League and Coppa Italia under legendary coach José Mourinho in 2010.

 

Fixtures between these two behemoths of Calcio rarely disappoint and they will meet once more in Nanjing this year.

 

What is the International Champions Cup?
The International Champions Cup (ICC) is a pre-season tournament that has been held every summer since 2013, with the competition itself a series of friendly games played between European heavyweights.

This year's edition is set to take place between July 16 and August 11.

 

For the past three years, the ICC has been split into three different regions: the United States, China and Australia in 2016 and the United States, China and Singapore in 2017 and 2018.

 

Last year, Europe and Singapore hosted 10 games in total, while the USA section has 17 games on the schedule - for a total of 27 games.
