Initiated by Hepburn's eldest son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, the “Intimate Audrey Hepburn” exhibition will be organized by HEROSE CLUB, the world's leading platform for elite women's growth and socialization, and co-hosted by HER YOUNG and NEWAGE. The exhibition will be held from December 15, 2024 to March 8, 2025 on the Bund in Shanghai, presenting the extraordinary journey of this icon of the times.
The Shanghai exhibition is also the debut of “The Intimate Audrey Hepburn” in China. The exhibition invited Giovanni Cerea, an international designer and curator who is currently working with more than 40 international brands such as LouisVuitton, Prada, Ferragamo, Rolex, etc., to be the curator. With “Private Journey” as the main clue, the exhibition hopes to break through the public's perception of Hepburn's superstar status, and show a more realistic image of Hepburn from a unique private perspective.
The Shanghai exhibition includes more than 1,200 precious exhibits surrounding Audrey Hepburn, including unpublished soundtrack videos, original photographs/movie posters, movie props, costume jewelry, exclusive collections, trophies, and numerous personal items. These exhibits focus on Audrey Hepburn's artistic pursuits and free style from multiple angles, and have high documentary value and cultural connotation.
What's more, this exhibition also takes a new perspective, between a piece of Hepburn's personal belongings, images and glory records, letting the public deeply feel the side of Hepburn closer to the life of ordinary people. In some of the video records, Hepburn in the end of the shooting after facing the camera, shedding the 20th century big screen constraints, re-presented the most real side of the little girl, immersed in laughter, showing a kind of wild beauty.
When the “Intimate Audrey Hepburn” global commemorative exhibition comes to this stop, it is more like opening a cross-century dialog with the public through a personal history. Every important point in Hepburn's life presented in the exhibition, an unrepeatable splendor or an ordinary daily life, demonstrates her forward-looking thinking that transcends the times and continues to resonate with contemporary women.
After understanding Hepburn's life trajectory and spiritual contours through the exhibition, viewers are able to reflect on themselves, give meaning and value to their own lives by virtue of their own inner strength, and explore more possibilities with our resilience and wisdom.
Just like the theme of the exhibition “Intimate Audrey Hepburn”, this kind of dialog is more like a conversation between close friends, rather than a historical review that can only be viewed and recalled, and Hepburn's spiritual world and attitude towards life are the most priceless treasures left to the world. This is also the unique meaning and experience that this exhibition wants to convey to every audience.
