The flowers in Wagashi food culture are highly appreciated artistically.
Wagashi pursues the art of ''five senses of the four seasons'', i.e. sight, taste, smell, sound, and touch. For each color of Wagashi, the corresponding ingredients will be added according to the change of seasons to create various styles of Wagashi that match the atmosphere, presenting the change of seasons in spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Wagashi is a traditional tea dessert and is known as the "King of beauty" in the dessert world because of its exquisite appearance. It is not only beautiful in appearance but also has a unique spiritual charm due to its inseparable relationship with the tea ceremony culture.
The characteristic of wagashi is exquisite and aesthetic. It will be added with representative ingredients according to the characteristics of each season: cherry blossoms in spring, red leaves in autumn ...... which makes it more like a piece of artwork by the ingenuity of the culinary staff rather than a confectionery.
Wagashi can be divided into three categories: raw, semi-raw, and dried. Raw wagashi, also known as main wagashi or morning wagashi, refers to fresh confectionery made in the morning. Because of their short shelf life, they can only be kept for about two days and should be eaten while fresh.
Enjoy the rich oriental charm of wagashi with a cup of refreshing tea.
This is the charm of "handmade". The charm of handmade can also be said to be the charm of "heart". In each wagashi, not only the filling but also the heart of the craftsman is wrapped in it.
