"Pick Up The Pieces," a funk track from the 1970s Scottish funk and R&B Band Average White Band, was originally a purely instrumental track that sold millions of copies. This song can still be heard on many occasions today, such as Iron Man 2! The song basically no vocals and lyrics, instead of the big kill in jazz - saxophone, and by the guitar and drums to create a strong funk sense!
A return to the funk of the '70s can be seen in contemporary artists and bands today. Many modern musicians have drawn inspiration from this era, infusing their music with funk rhythms and the improvisational spirit of jazz funk. This revival has brought the genre back into the spotlight. On December 17, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai will stage an exciting Funk live!
