Travelers Society is taking you to the hidden gems of the silk road: Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan! Check out the incredible landscape of Central Asia with its green snow capped mountains, and incredible nature. Learn about Kyrgyz history and culture, while strolling through Bishkek’s Soviet built streets, horseback riding through beautiful scenery and dine in style in a traditional shepherd’s yurt with a local nomadic family. Head over to Uzbekistan and check out its magnificent architecture - turquoise and blue domed mosques, traditional local bazaars, wonderful people, and rich history, UNESCO sites, and more!!

Dates: July 5 - July 16 (Thursday to Monday)
Day 0 – Flight to Kyrgyzstan
- Board our flight to Urumqi.
- Overnight in Urumqi.
Hotel is included by China Southern in the price of the suggested flight.
Day 1 – Bishkek
- Hop on our flight to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
- Arrive in Bishkek and transfer to our hotel
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Head over to the beautiful Ala Archa National Natural Park where you can trek up the main Ala Archa Gorge for spectacular views of the snow capped Alatau Mountain range
- Drive back to Bishkek for some sightseeing in the city
- Walking tour - Visit Ala Too Square, the city’s main square, and even check out the Lenin statue, left over from Soviet times, and more
- Overnight in Bishkek
- Accommodation : hotel

Day 2 – Burana - Kyzart
- Transfer to Kyzart village after breakfast
- En route - Visit the ancient Burana tower and ruins of Balasagun, an important Silk Road trading post from the 11-12 centuries, check out a little local museum to learn about the history, and some ancient Turkic tombs, called Balbals
- Accommodation : Hotel
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch with Kazakh family, Dinner with local family
Day 3 – Kyzart - Tulpar Tash
- After breakfast, saddle up for our horseback riding adventure, heading to Song-Kol Lake surrounded by 3700m high mountains on all sides, and then over to beautiful Tulpar-Tash. (~5 hours, 20 km, altitude difference 1300m → -300m)
- Arrive Tulpar-Tash with a warm welcome by a local shepherd family
- Accommodation : traditional Kyrgyz yurt
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 – Tulpar Tash - Tuulga Tash (Song-Kul Lake)
- Take in the breathtaking scenery as we continue our horseback riding journey along the shores of the stunning Song-Kol Lake, surrounded by snow capped mountains. (~ 6 hours, 24 km)
- Accommodation : traditional Kyrgyz yurt
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
Day 5 – Tuulga Tash – Trek in Konorchek Canyons – Bishkek
- After breakfast, head over to the Konorcheck Canyons
- Lunch in Kochkor Village
- Begin our trek to the Kochkor Canyons, the only way to access the canyons is hiking through a maze of rocks along a dried out river!
- Head back to Bishkek
- Accommodation : hotel
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch with a local family
Day 6 – Bishkek - Tashkent
- Early morning transfer to the airport: flight to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
- Sightseeing tour in Tashkent: Kukeldash Madrassah, Khast Imam Complex, colorful local bazaar Chor-Su
- Modern Tashkent - Check out Independence Square, Amir Temur Square, Tashkent clock towers, the Forum Palace, and more
- Accommodation : hotel
- Meals: Breakfast
Day 7 – Samarkand
- Head over to the culturally rich, ancient city of Samarkand and explore the turquoise domed architecture - Registan Square, Guri-Amir Complex - a Travelers Society favorite.
- Accommodation : hotel - Bed and Breakfast

Day 8 – Samarkand / Bukhara
- Spend the morning exploring more of Samarkand - Bibi Khanum Mosque, Siyob Local Bazaar, Shakhi Zinda Necropolis, Ulugbek Observatory.
- Then head over to Bukhara for the night.
- Accommodation : hotel
- Meals: Breakfast
Day 9 – Bukhara
- After breakfast, explore another ancient gem of Uzbekistan - Bukhara- check out the Ark fortress, Lyabi Hauz complex, Poi Kalyan complex, Trading Domes, and more

Day 10 – Bukhara/Tashkent
- Head to Bukhara’s countryside
- Visit to Sitorai Mokhi Khosa – summer palace of last Emir and the Bakhout Din Naqshband mausoleum.
- Transfer to railway station and hop on a bullet train back to Tashkent
- Transfer to airport

Day 11 – Return Flight
- Hop on our early flight back home.
