Chanson Musical recalls an iconic French cabaret singer’s legendary life.
Conceived and directed by the Nice-based theatrical maverick Gil Marsalla and starring Anne Carrere, a young French performer hailed as "Edith Piaf's legitimate musical heiress", Piaf! The Show, is a tribute to "The Swallow of Montmartre" and was inspired by The award-winning movie La Vie En Rose.
In two 45-time acts, the show narrates the rags-to-riches story of the Parisian singer's career through her unforgettable songs, complemented by a visual tapestry of previously unreleased photographs and images of famous Parisian locations of the Edith Piaf era.
La Vie en Rose (Official show name: Piaf! The Show) was performed at Carnegie Hall on January 6, 2017 on the 60th anniversary of Edith Piaf’s last performance at the famous venue.
Performed by French vocalists, Anne Carrere and Nathalie Lermitte, who will take one evening each, the musical recounts the rags-to-riches story of Piaf's career through her unforgettable tunes, complemented by a visual tapestry of previously unreleased photographs of her life.

Gil Marsalla was born in Nice in 1969. From the age of 14 he performed on stage in a variety of musical presentations. While studying Piano and Jazz at the Conservatoire Musical of Nice, he also studied for a degree at Nice University.
In 2007 he decided to export the shows he wrote to a more international audience, and saw worldwide success with “Piaf ! Le Spectacle” and «Formidable Aznavour?!»Audiences in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, Chihuahua, Tokyo, Osaka, Moscow, Prague, and Athens have rewarded his shows with standing ovations.
He has earned the reputation of a globally renowned producer and was inspired to continue to create new entertainments each time he saw that familiar sparkle of joy in his audiences’ eyes.
