On 22 December, musical master Andrew - The Phantom of the Opera Sequel: Love Never Dies will have at the Shenzhen Poly Theatre.

One of the world's most recognisable musical IPs, Webber's Phantom of the Opera has been active on the musical theatre stage for 37 years.

In 2010, the world premiere of The Phantom of the Opera Sequel: Love Never Dies was staged in London's West End to a sold-out audience, and seven years later, it crossed the Atlantic and embarked on a multi-round tour of the U.S., presenting a breakthrough show that will be reborn as a magnificent show. 2024, this world-famous romantic music will be played again in Beijing, China.

In the show, Webber moves the story from Paris, Europe to New York, USA. In 1907, ten years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House, the Phantom moves to Coney Island in the United States, where he builds a fantasy amusement park. In order to reclaim Christine's love, the Phantom anonymously invites Christine, her husband and her son to travel from Manhattan to Coney Island with him, and everyone's fate is rewritten.

The Phantom of the Opera Sequel: Love Never Dies brings together a dream team of creators with a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with music by Glenn Slater, lyrics by Glenn Slater and a screenplay by Ben Elton. The show is an adaptation of Forsyth's The Phantom of Manhattan, with additional lyrics by Charles Hart, Orchestrations by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Simon Phillips directs, with choreography and costume design by Gabriella Teresova, choreography by Graeme Murphy, and lighting design by Nick Schreiber. Mick Porter for sound design. The Chinese premiere will be directed by Gavin Mitford, Associate Director of by Mick Porter. Associate Director Gavin Mitford, Associate Choreographer Simone Salter and Music Director Simon Lee. 

According to the producers, the new revival will feature a magnificent and bizarre carousel, prismatic jungle and other amusement park scenes, which will push the stage to a new peak of magnificence, and bring a subversive viewing experience to the audience. In terms of music, not only does it continue the tenderness of Weber's "Phantom" series, but it also breaks new ground by introducing a variety of styles, such as rock, which puts infinite feelings into the voice of the singer, showing the extraordinary musical charm of "Phantom". The beautiful visual effects and original music will lead the audience into a thrilling, charming and romantic paradise scene to experience the true feelings behind the Phantom's mask.

Cast

The much-anticipated role of the Phantom is played by acclaimed actor Luke McCall, who, after graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the Welsh capital of Cardiff, made his debut in the musical Les Misérables in 2015, which led to the awarding of the prestigious Andrew Lloyd Webb Foundation Scholarship. In the West End, Luke is the youngest actor ever to play both the Phantom and Jean Valjean in two major roles.

The other protagonist who haunts the audience, Christine's character is played by Manon Taris from France. Manon graduated from the International Academy of Performing Arts in Paris, and has acted in the London West End production of The Phantom of the Opera, the Paris StageEnterprise The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast and Dance of the Vampires and many others.
