Conductor: Gregory Singer
Gregory Singer is the founder and music director of the Manhattan Symphonie. Gregory Singer, son of renowned conductor Jacques Singer and concert pianist Leslie Singer, his musical talent bloomed at an early age and has earned a reputation as a versatile musician. He studied at Indiana University, Meadowmount School for Strings, and the Juilliard School of Music.
Gregory has performed numerous chamber music concerts with Lukas Foss, Ruth Laredo and Mark Peskanov at the Barge Concert Series. He has also played with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Composers Orchestra, and the American Symphony.
Presenter: Manhattan Symphony
The Manhattan Symphony was founded in the year 2005 by Gregory Singer who follows in his father’s (Conductor Jacques Singer) footsteps. This orchestra is comprised of musicians that are eager to play music without any limitations. The members are young virtuoso musicians eager to make their mark, as well as seasoned veterans of the three Lincoln Center orchestras including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
The Manhattan Symphony enjoys performing American popular arrangements such as those by Gershwin, Hoagy Carmichael, Copland, and Irving Berlin, plus movie soundtracks as well as the great masterworks of Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Wagner and more.
