Chippy Nonstop
Chippy Nonstop got her name for a reason. She is an audacious, undeniable party starter with a penchant for traveling the world and always bringing her unique energy.
As a sound selector, she makes the dance floor shake, but there’s much more to the story. Chippy is a DJ, rapper, songwriter, writer, producer, activist and organizer of community events. She is of Indian descent, but is more of a cultural nomad; she was born in Dubai, grew up in Zambia, has citizenship in Canada, lived in Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, and currently resides in Toronto after very public deportation; (Fader’s coverage here). Chippy Nonstop is currently working on new music-related endeavors including a project called ‘Intersessions’, a sound initiative curated by and for women & the LGBTQ+ community. Chippy strives for balanced representation in music by producing this global workshop.
XHIN [Stroboscopic Artefacts, CLR, Ibadan – SG]
Xhin (pronounced as “sheen”) has been crafting ominous cuts of cutting-edge electronic music since 1997. Building a forte in sound design, he is best described as a sound futurist. His identical rhythmic structure and compositional techniques that incorporate elements of techno, tight sub bass, ambient and IDM delivers a hint of chaotic soundscape amidst artistry.
A Singaporean by birth and residence, he independently released “Xycle”, a self-promotional ep that made the industry to stand up to take notice, in early 2003. He then followed with his debut album, “Supersonicstate” the following year. In 2006, his talent has been discovered by a German independent record label Meerestief. With a remix for Five Green Circle’s track entitled Ronan’s BBQ has created a storm over Europe, fully supported and charted by heavyweights from the world of electronic music.
An active DJ in the Singapore club culture he has played extensively in a number of clubs and various events like ZoukOut, Good Vibrations, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival, Singapore Fashion Festival and fashion label Woods & Woods runways. In 2007, Xhin was invited to play at the important electronic music festival, C/O Pop in Cologne Germany and the first outdoor electronic music festival in Hanoi, together with various good acts from the far east.
Besides releasing and remixing, Xhin also got involved in various miscellaneous projects like producing music and sounds for Nike, Nokia and fashion labels like Woods & Woods among others. He also appeared as a special guest tutor on electronic music production using Ableton Live for Red Bull Music Academy Info Sessions II in Singapore.
In 2009, Xhin joined Berlin’s new techno label, Stroboscopic Artefacts to release his dark, intense and experimental sounds. From the results of his new releases for the label, he has done it again. Heavy rotation from the big boys like Speedy J, Luke Slater, Ben Klock and many more. This will be yet again the beginning of an old new direction for him to explore and the experiment sounds even deeper for his future releases.
Cassius Select [Hypercolour/Accidental Jnr/Unknown To The Unknown/Plastic World/SUMAC]
Toronto native Cassius Select (real name, Lavurn Lee) currently spends most of his year in Sydney, Australia, while regularly playing in Europe and Asia. Cassius Select has never paid much attention to BPM or replicating genres. He produces unique dance music reminiscent of numerous UK styles, while always channeling a distinctly broken rhythmic palette and an icey harmonic minimalism. Cassius Select's signature combination of sparse drums and grimey vocal samples creates an incredible sense of swing and attitude; the kind of music that makes you want to screw-face while winding on the d-floor.
His talent has been recognized with releases on major labels like Hypercolour and Mathew Herbert's Accidental Jr. He's also involved in other projects including BV (FKA Black Vanilla) - a band comprising Jarred Beeler (DJ Plead) and Marcus Whale as well as Fake - an alias through which he experiments with rap production and traditional song structures.

His work for Mixcloud and MAEKAN means he’s constantly exposed to cutting-edge music.
He created the Eastern Margins party to showcase East & South-East Asian artists in London, who do not receive the exposure they deserve. The parties have given UK debuts for: Genome 6.66 MBP, bod[包家巷], x/o, YoungQueenz, Fotan Laiki, Sonia Calico, Leevisa, Frikimo, Double Clapperz,HARIKIRI, Yukibeb and Yeule, whilst supporting the growth of local artists like Organ Tapes, Why Be, Flora Yin-Wong and 2Shin.
