Christmas just ain’t Christmas, without the one you love; or at least a visit to the 6th Annual Pearl Christmas Market. Whether your sleigh is an Uber, metro, or led by reindeer, your winter wonderland is close by.

The Pearl is perfect for this occasion as it has many looks to it. Some days it’s a cabaret, other times it’s a restaurant/bar, then there are those awesome rock concerts. However, this time of the year is dedicated to Christmas. The best holiday of them all! Nestled in historic Zhapu Road in Shanghai’s Hongkou district, it is just minutes from the glamor of the Bund. Upon discovery, is a world that is timeless and elegant, housed in a landmark heritage building dating back to 1931. 

Once inside, The Pearl is not just a theatre, but a big room of warm memories. The place is transformed into a comfy winter wonderland. It feels as familiar as sitting in front of a roaring fire with a hot cup of cocoa watching Bing Crosby and David Bowie sing “Little Drummer Boy”.

The Pearl’s Christmas Market is our annual family friendly event! We will have face painters, games, gifts along with Santa. Kids can indulge in their favourite excesses while feeling right at home in the snowy surroundings.

Adults can start their experience with a glass of eggnog or mulled wine to stroll around the concessions. Once there, over 40 vendors will proudly be displaying their unique wares and handmade products. There are all sorts of knick knacks to peruse. Gift ideas galore that can fill those stockings and make those loving companions even more loving. There is something for everyone at the Christmas market!

Another highlight of the festive day is relaxing with some drinks over cuisine specially prepared for the holiday by our Chef Baidas. Bites like savory foie gras and warm toasty waffles are just a small sample of what we have in store for you.

It wouldn’t be a true stop at the Pearl without music. Naturally, we have the Red Stars playing live with some special guests to perform throughout the day. Seasonal music, mixed in with some rock hits, will permeate the theatre.

So, don’t miss out on this incredible event! The Christmas Market is on Saturday, November 28 (12:00-22:00) and Sunday November 29 (12:00-20:00). Admission is RMB 20. Kids under 5 years old enter free. There are limited tickets available, so it is best to get them quickly before they are sold out!
