Li Bowei
Li Bowei, permanent conductor of Beijing Wind Music Orchestra, director of Asia and Pacific Wind Music Association, director of Beijing Wind Music Association. Growing up in a family of musicians, he started learning piano at the age of four, went to the United States to receive piano training at the age of eight, and held a personal piano recital in the United States at the age of ten.
In 2004, he was admitted to the High School Attached to the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent grades. In 2011, he was admitted to the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music with the first grade in his major. He studied under Professor Yang Li from the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music. Served as a guest pianist of the National Center for the Performing Arts Orchestra. He has cooperated with world-renowned conductors Zubin Mehta, Gergiev, Zheng Myung-hoon in many operas and concerts. Since the age of 18, he led the orchestra to Korea, Japan and other places to hold various concerts. In 2010, he was invited to lead the group to perform in South Korea. In 2011, he went to Taoyuan City, Taiwan, China to serve as the guest conductor of the Taoyuan Symphony Orchestra. In 2016, he held a concert in the Concert Hall of the National Center for the Performing Arts, which was recognized by the audience and the band.
He was awarded the Outstanding Conductor Award in the Conductor Competition of the Beijing International Wind Music Festival. His conducting style is passionate, accurate, delicate and fluent, running through the gap between classical and modern music. He is an outstanding young conductor active in today's music scene.
