YourMum is delighted to announce that indie legends, Ride, will be returning to Hong Kong following their memorable closing set at Clockenflap in 2015, for their first ever headline show in the city at Macpherson Stadium on Feb 26th.
The quartet from Oxford of Mark Gardener, Andy Bell, Laurence Colbert and Steve Queralt formed in 1988 and first rose to fame as the widely regarded leading lights of the shoegaze scene. Characterised by walls of distorted guitar engulfing psychedelic noise pop, the sound has become a cult staple in the alternative world. With four albums released: 'Nowhere', 'Going Blank Again', 'Carnival Of Light' and 'Tarantula', the group broke up in 1996 where the members went on to various other projects, most notably Andy Bell who played with Oasis.
In 2015, the alternative world rejoiced with the band’s reunion announced with a slew of high profile global dates (including Clockenflap), followed up with a new album released in June of this year called ‘Weather Diaries’ to widespread critical and fan approval.
Ride is back and sounding better than ever. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch this vital band play in such an ideal setting at Macpherson Stadium.
