Rob Smith is a DJ, musician and remixer from Bristol, England. He is on the Grand Central Records independent record label, playing breakbeat hip-hop, dub and reggae-influenced music, as well as producing dubstep tracks as RSD on a number of labels.

 

 

Rob was formerly a Drum & Bass/Jungle DJ, most notably alongside Ray Mighty and Peter D Rose in Smith & Mighty on the !K7 Records label. Smith and Rose also produced music under the moniker of More Rockers.

 

Skinny Brown is the DJ and promoter who started the Popasuda dance parties at Dada Shanghai back in 2011. Popasuda means "booty" in Portuguese, one of many languages you'll hear at the night.

 

 

 

You won't hear any English lyrics though. Skinny Brown strictly plays "global bass" jams coming from cheap computers in the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Indian, and beyond. He has the cred to do a night like this too - dude's background is more mixed than the tunes, he speaks seven languages and has lived everywhere from Canada and Pakistan to Jamaica and Japan.

 

With a career that spans nearly 10 years playing reggae music, Kyle B has graced stages around the world as a trombone player, bandleader, producer and DJ.

 

 

Versatility is a key ingredient in a Kyle B session. He will take his audience on a journey through the sounds originally from Jamaica and effortlessly mix reggae, dancehall, dub, steppers and rocksteady. Kyle B always keeps a vibrant vibe that fills dance floors and keep the people dancing to the early morning. Kyle B has been a mainstay in Shanghai's underground reggae scene for nearly 2 years, and can often be seen at C’s Bar flinging down his favorite tunes.
