This tour allows you to experience the Shikumen architecture of the Shanghai 'nontang' homes like the locals do: on a bicycle.
 
 
Spend 4 hours pedalling around the traditional laneways with a guide, learning about the community's architecture, food, culture, and history. All cycling equipment included.

Make your way to Dabaishu Station, near Luxun Park, to meet your guide and group at 9am. Get fitted for a bicycle and helmet, then get pedalling.
 
 
See the Shikumen-style residential complex of General Zhou Enlai and Xichengli. Cycle through Tianzifang, a shopping district in the French Concession area. 
 
 
Take breaks to rest and snap photos, while your guide fills you in on some of the classic features of Shikumen architecture and the style's history.
 
 
Pass shop fronts on your way to Yuyuan Garden, where you'll see some examples of traditional Chinese architecture, pools, zigzag bridges, and pavilions, before making your way back to the original departure point.
