Shanghai Media Group (SMG) presents more than 1000 exciting performances every year. From the immersive drama “Sleep No More”, to the musical “Chicago” and the critically acclaimed dance-drama “Zhu Huan”, SMG has gradually cemented its place as an industry leader.

In 2017, SMG live created an acting and talent training programme to cultivate top talents for production and performance, this includes outstanding talent from the children’s performance arts. Upon completing the summer camp, students will be selected to join the talent pool of SMG live, offering top production opportunities at home and abroad. There are a great deal of stages dominated by excellent child actors, such as, “Beauty and the Beast”, “School of Rock” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” etc. Given the spotlight and attention, a musical star is bound to be born.

Celebrity guests will make an appearance by “calling” the young stars in order to encourage them. Stars, 娄艺潇 (Lou Yixiao) and 徐丽东 (Xu Lidong) have specifically been enlisted call the children. Furthermore, mystery guests will also make an appearance.

In Partnership With

SMG LIVE partnered with senior mentors from the Arts Educational School, London (commonly known as ArtsEd). ArtsEd will act as course consultants and strictly control the quality of the courses. This institution is chaired by the musical godfather himself, Andrew Lloyd Webber, making it one of the world’s leading music education institutions. Its alumni include internationally acclaimed musical performers Sarah Brightman, Julie Andrews and Samantha Barks.

Graduate of the Royal Holloway University with a Theatre Directorate.

Phillip Sutton

Senior vocal instructor and teaching director of Music at the Royal Central Academy of Speech and Drama, Guilford Academy of Performing Arts and the London Studio Centre. He has also taught at Mountain View College for 8 years, creating and starring in many musicals.
