A Chinese idiom tells us that if a snipe and a clam are locked in a fight, it is only to the advantage of the fisherman. Now we retell this story in a different way.
The fisherman, snipe and calm all live by rivers, and go fishing for a living. The fisherman has a wife who wants to live a better life, so he has to work hard and catch a lot of fish every day.
One day, the fisherman who has not caught too many fish is driven back to the riverside. In order to please his wife, he decides to turn to the snipe and the clam. As a result, he is beaten by the rebellious snipe and clam.
The snipe and the clam who have won think highly of themselves, and then compete fiercely for a fish. Consequently, the entangled two are easily caught by the fisherman.
Unexpectedly, the quarrel between the fisherman and his wife eventually leads to the escape of the snipe and clam.
If a snipe and a clam are locked in fight, it is only to the advantage of the fisherman. But what will happen if the fisherman and his wife are in a fight?
After the snipe and the clam return to the river, they never argue again...
