The stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning Spirited Away is created by legendary animator and director, Hayao Miyazaki. It tells the enchanting tale of Chihiro, who stumbles into a world of fantastic spirits, uses her wits to survive in this strange new place, finds a way to free her parents, and returns to the normal world. Premiered in 2022 as part of Toho Theatre’s 90th anniversary program, the play is adapted and directed by John Caird, former Associate Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
