Let’s go…to an incredible stone forest and check out minority ethnic groups living in a centuries-old stone village…where we will spend the night! This trip is all about exploring authentic China, complete with singing and dancing around a bonfire with the Yi ethnic minority, an awesome trek through the countryside, visiting the amazing UNESCO World Heritage stone forest ,which is truly one of the most majestic natural formations in the world, venturing out on a boat to get to an awesome cave, trying delicious food, and more!!!

We will be exploring one of the coolest rock formations in the world…

…checking out (and staying in) a traditional stone village…

…going local and spending time with the Yi ethnic minority group…

…watching folk performances…

…doing an awesome trek…

…taking a boat to get to some insane caves…

…taking a scenic cable car ride…

…throwing a bonfire party with the minority ethnic group…

Dates: June 16 - 18 (For the Dragonboat Festival weekend)

 

Day 1 – Saturday, June 16

07:40 – Catch our flight to Kunming   

12: 00 – Hop on our bus and head to a traditional stone village

(Bring a picnic lunch for the bus or buy something in the airport if you arrive early)

14:00 – Welcome ceremony from the villagers and watch folk performances

15:00 – Check in to our home stay in the stone village with local families

16:00 – Check out the ancient village

18:00 – Local specialty dinner

19:30 – Bonfire party with the locals so get ready to sing, dance and drink with the Yi people!!

 

Day 2 – Sunday, June 17

08:00 – Simple Western breakfast

09:00 – Start our trek through the mountains around the village

11:00 – Local specialty lunch

12:00 – Hop on the bus and head to the incredible Stone Forest

13:00 – Head  off the beaten track and wander through the little known paths of the Stone Forest

17:30 – Take the bus to our hotel

18:30 – Local specialty dinner

19:30 – Go out and grab a drink in town

 

Day 3 – Monday, June 18

08:00 – Simple Western breakfast

09:00 – Hop on the bus and drive to the caves

10:00 - Check out awesome scenery on board a cable car

10:30 – Jump aboard a boat and head to the magnificent Jiuxiang Caves

12:00 – Local specialty lunch

13:00 – Head to the airport to catch our flight

17:00 – Catch our flight back to Shanghai

20:00 – Arrival in Shanghai after our awesome weekend!!
