Sunset Blvd. is based on Billy Wilder's dark 1950 film. Set in the Golden Age of Hollywood, legendary silent film star Norma Desmond is abandoned by Hollywood with the rise of talkies and longs day and night to return to the big screen. By chance, she meets Joe Gillis, a young screenwriter in debt, and hires him to write the script for her ‘comeback blockbuster,’ and the two soon fall into a tempestuous relationship filled with self-destructive and unrequited love. But Joe's heart can't accept the woman whose youth has passed. He rejects her and turns to another beautiful woman to plan a new script. They not only fall in love, but hit it off. When Norma learns of Joe's betrayal, she begs him humbly, but she can't shake him. Finally, Norma raises a gun on Joe, who is about to leave.
