As one of China's most notable conductors, Tan Lihua holds the post of the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra. He is a frequent guest in many Chinese and international concert halls and has conducted a range of distinguished orchestras in Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Czech, France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Israel, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, Columbia, Venezuela and Panama. He was the principal guest conductor at the Russian State Academic Symphony Orchestra from 2000/1 and has also been invited to conduct the London Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras. He has collaborated with some of the most prestigious orchestras in China including the China National Symphony, the China Philharmonic and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestras.
