The Trio Zadig came together when two childhood friends from France, Boris Borgolotto and Marc Girard Garcia, met American pianist, Ian Barber. Already, they have been awarded 9 prizes at 6 International competitions in France, Italy, Austria and USA. With depth and passion, they play a repertoire that goes from Haydn to contemporary composers.
Trio Zadig is currently in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and was also named laureate of the Banque Populaire foundation in Paris.
Boris Borgolotto
Boris Borgolotto, violinist studied at the CNSM of Paris with Ami Flammer and the Music University of Vienna in the class of Dora Schwarzberg. In 2011 he won the 1st prize of the IBLA Foundation in New York and in 2014, the 1st prize of the “American Fine Arts” in New York. He is also invited as a Rising Star of the “Great Music Festival” in South Korea.
Marc Girard Garcia
Marc Girard Garcia, cellist, studied at the CNSM of Paris in the class of Roland Pidoux, Xavier Philipps and Marc Coppey. He also studied with Rober Nagy, cello solo of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Vienna at the University of Vienna. In 2010 he was awarded the 2nd prize at the Vatelot-Rampal international competition.
Ian Barber
Ian Barber, a pianist, received his “Performance Diploma” at Indiana University in America under the guidance of Andre Watts. In 2008 he received the 1st Prize of Indiana University’s concerto competition and in 2010 the first prize of the international piano Academy of Freiburg. Since 2012 he has been living in Paris and performing throughout Europe.
