Born in Chengdu, China, Ning Feng was admitted to the Chuan Yin High School in 1992, where he studied under the renowned violin pedagogue, Prof. Hu Weimin, and furthered his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Antje Weithaas and Hu Kun.
Ning Feng has won numerous prizes on the international stage, including the International Violin Competition in Hanover, the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition, the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, etc. In 2005, he won the first prize at the Mike Hill International Violin Competition (New Zealand); In 2006, he was the winner of the Concorso internazionale di violino "Niccolò Paganini", the highest competition in the violin field.
Ning Feng lives in Berlin, where he is Professor of Violin at the Hochschulefür Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and International Violin Tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music. He also serves as Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Institute of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music and Vice Director of the Violin Institute of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.
For the 80-year-old Ning Feng, these remarkable achievements could not have been achieved without his own talent and hard work. But the humble Ning Feng is even more grateful to those who have helped him succeed: "I think I am a very lucky person. There are so many people learning the piano, but to have these opportunities and to have these things happen to one person makes me feel very grateful."
