THE EVENING
The Loire Valley is France's most diverse wine region, producing exemplary wines in every style. Popularity of Loire Valley wines with sommeliers and wine writers has been growing steadily for the last ten years because for all their varieties and share important characteristics that make them perfect for contemporary taste.
Loire wines have lightness, airiness and freshness that put a spring in the taste buds of those who love powerful Rhônes or elegant Burgundies. There is no such thing as a heavy Loire wine, nor a high-alcohol Loire wine.
During the evening, we will take you on a journey through this very diverse wine region and as usual talk a little about history, geology and the reason those wines are so damn good!

The Carte d'Or cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. Champagne with a fine aromatic richness, it opens with aromas of stoned fruits such as white vineyard peach. A spicy hint announces a powerful complex palate.
2017 Domaine Arnaud Lambert, Saumur Saint-Cyr-En-Bourg
While soft-spoken and humble, Arnaud Lambert is helping to drive a revolutionary movement in the appellations of Saumur and Saumur-Champigny. The goal is to re-discover each individual terroir and its potential through organic viticulture and less-is-more, precise winemaking.
2016 Domaine Patrice Moreux, Sancerre,
Patrice Moreux cultivates 5 hectares of Sancerre (sauvignon blanc) on the clay limestone soils of Chavignol and Crézancy at the vineyard known as “Les Monts damnés”. Well known in the world of the wine, this terroir provides minerality, aromatic notes and well-balanced wines.
2017 Domaine Arnaud Lambert, Saumur Champigny
Harvested from certified organic vineyards, this 2017 Saumur-Champigny is a gorgeous expression of Cabernet Franc. The limestone laden vineyards have yielded a wine that is clean and bright with a beautiful balance of subtle green herbal tones and chalkly minerality. The fruit is delicious and juicy, and the finish is long and complex with a subtle note of leather. Si
2017 Domaine Lambert, Cuvee Danae, Chinon
Beatrice & Pascal Lambert believe that crafting the finest, richest Chinon possible begins with respect for the soil and the vine. Made from old vines, it possesses more concentration, a denser purple color, and more blueberry and black raspberry fruit notes intermixed with notions of flowers than the average Cabernet Franc find in the appellation.
THE ARTIST: Yoki Yu
An exciting addition to Wine & The City! We are proud to announce our Promising New Artists Series as a new, dynamic element to each wine social.
Wine & The City collaborates with up-and-coming artists selected from creative communities across China, for live performance and discussions about their style.
Yoki Yu remembers using chalk to draw faces on her grandma’s cement floor as a kid and showing them to her with so much pride. She was always a creative person, though her rigid upbringing made art seem like a waste of time. As it was expected, she pursued a career in marketing, acted as a sales consultant, and a corporate trainer. One day she bought a 10 RMB color palate from a stationary store, that was the first step she took to build her confidence as an artist. She now creates art across different mediums: words, paintings, and visual arts.
It is hard for Yoky to define her own style; abstract, maybe. But what really matters to her is her purpose – the why. Her art is about embracing the moment, expressing who she is and her own experience from the here and now. Improvisation is a big part of her creative process and live-painting is one way to experiment with it. The four main values behind her works are: creativity, curiosity, courage, and compassion. Yoki paints whatever the truth is – pretty or ugly.
This new addition to our wine social promises to be an exciting one! You will spend the evening with 20 other food and wine lovers, so grab a date, a partner, or fly solo and enjoy a toast with new friends!
